Since 2013, we have been working with our associated charity, ‘Reconnected’ which was established by our Chairman, to help raise funds for the vulnerable homeless people living in our city. Through fundraising initiatives, new and existing services can be delivered to the homeless community which aim to reduce poverty, combat social isolation, enable a better quality of life and to create learning and job opportunties for local people.
We are committed to raising money for Reconnected, so every year, we organise one day per year for everyone to take part in charitable activities on our behalf. This day gives everyone a huge sense of personal achievement, and lets us work together as a team for a greater cause – over the last 3 years, we have been able to help 112 vulnerable people into employment or education.
“Homelessness is a cause close to our hearts and, being in the property business, we had long felt that there would be more that just cash donations we could offer – we were looking for the right charity where the kind of help we can offer would make the most impact.”
James Ackrill, Centrick Chairman
“Sometimes it’s easy to walk by because we know we can’t change someone’s life in a single afternoon. But what we fail to realise is that simple kindness and willingness to engage can go a long way toward encouraging someone who is stuck in desolate place to get back on their feet, and that is what Reconnected is all about.”
D. Bradley, Horizons Housing.
