Hat-trick for Centrick as homes market continues to flourish

Centrick’s new homes team has secured a hat-trick of successes after being instructed to market three multi-million pound developments of high quality apartments in Birmingham city centre.

The team is also celebrating completing its highest value home sale in the West Midlands. The residential and commercial property specialist has enjoyed a busy start to 2022 as the new homes market continues to flourish across the region and work gets underway on more large developments of apartments in Birmingham city centre.

Centrick has been appointed by Countrywide Developments to market The Pressworks, a development of 48 homes at Northwood Street in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter. The developer is converting a site including a Grade II Listed building into apartments combining historic elements and contemporary design. The £8 million development is being delivered by main contractor mac-group and practical completion is expected in Q1 2023.

The sales team has also been instructed by Property Trade to market Norton Court – a development of 38 apartments, and a ground floor office suite, at Bradford Street in Digbeth, Birmingham. The six-storey new-build, which includes six affordable homes and storage for 38 cycles, is being built on the site of a former industrial complex.

Centrick has also been instructed by developer Citybeing to market FiftySixty – a development of 44, one and two-bedroom high specification apartments located at Northwood Street in the Jewellery Quarter, just a stone’s throw from St Paul’s Square.

Centrick also recently agreed its highest ever value sale for its new homes team on a £1.45 million barn conversion at Hampton in Arden. It is also expecting further instructions on new developments at Catherine-de-Barnes, Solihull, Olton, Rubery and Northfield.

Group sales and lettings director Andy Butts said: “It has been a fantastic start to the year for our new homes sales team, and we’re looking forward to completing many sales and lettings in what looks likely to be an extremely busy 2022.

“Our knowledge of the Birmingham and West Midlands market is widely recognised by many developers and housebuilders who trust our experienced and talented team to get the very best results for them, in terms of agreed sales and lettings, as they invest in delivering their exciting new homes developments.”

He added: “We’ve helped the Norton Court developers every step of the way, from naming the development and working with other companies to design all the marketing material, brochures, CGIs, and floor plans, through to discussing off-shore marketing distribution of the apartments.

The Pressworks is another Jewellery Quarter gem – a development which I’m sure will be hugely popular, with period features being retained and an original press machine being restored as a feature in the courtyard. I’m sure that homes at both of these developments, in highly sought-after locations, will be in great demand once we get the marketing campaigns underway.”

Meanwhile, Centrick’s land manager Luke Dennis is providing the company’s rapidly growing large developer client base with new land opportunities, complementing the skills of the new homes team. Just a few months into the job, Luke has already completed the disposal of two sites for landowners.

Developers have acquired the sites at Stratford-upon-Avon and Rubery to build luxury new homes. He said: “We are working hand-in-hand with landowners, advising them on the best strategy for their needs, while also presenting our client base of developers with interesting opportunities that meet their requirements. It’s very satisfying to have completed two deals so soon after establishing our land service.”

Centrick chairman James Ackrill said: “Our land and new homes team is going from strength to strength as these latest instructions clearly demonstrate. It is wonderful to see so many high quality new developments being delivered in Birmingham. It has been a fantastic start to the year for us and I am confident that our teams will continue to deliver excellent results for our developer clients.”
